MISSION

The mission of the School Counseling Program at Barack H. Obama Elementary Magnet School of Technology is to provide a comprehensive, developmental counseling program that addresses the academic, career and social/emotional development of all students, preparing them to become positive, productive citizens and lifelong learners.

VISION

To inspire students to achieve their maximum potential by implementing a comprehensive program that addresses academic, career and social/emotional goals. School Counselors believe that every student can succeed through the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders.

My name is Nelta Latimore. This will be my 3rd year serving as school counselor for Barack Obama. I will be serving grades 1st, 3rd and 5th. This will be my 17th year as a school counselor. One of my passions is working with children!

My Philosophy: To promote educational performance, providing each student with the opportunities to acquire the academic, career, personal and social competencies necessary to achieve quality learning and life-long success in a safe environment.
