I am Dr. Shainita D. Carter and I will serve as your child’s school counselor. As the school counselor, I will provide services for your growing students in the areas of personal-social, academic, and career development. The American School Counseling Association has developed a national school counseling model in which Obama’s School Counseling Program will follow this school year. In order to provide the best customer service available, we would like to take the time to gather important information about what types of programs offered at Obama. I will provide both small group and large group guidance that is needed to support the academic achievement of our students. The school counseling program will aim to engage, encourage, and educate our students to reach for excellence.

My name is Nelta Latimore. This will be my first year serving as school counselor for Barack Obama. I will be serving grades 1st, 3rd and 5th. This will be my 15th year as a school counselor. One of my passions is working with children!
